Arlene Davilmar, who is originally from Broward County, Florida plans to unmask the truths “A cure can’t hide forever.” Her late mother, Yolette Innocent, was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in September of 2015. Shortly after, Arlene purchased her mother’s first wig to reverse what was taken from her by treatment. Her confidence shifted towards a new beginning. On that very same day when she gave her that wig, the idea for the small business, Misfit Collection, was born. Preparations for the hair care and accessory line with the everyday misfit in mind.
My mission for this Business is to embrace, empower and uplift women With the tools to feel beautiful from inside and out. She would like to see Misfit at the top spreading not just beauty essentials, but to also spread confidence and self love. “You can still look amazing on the outside, regardless of what you’re fighting within yourself.” A quote that she stands by is “Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.”- Unknown. With Misfit Collection she wants everyone to feel just that.
However, in Nov. 2017, grief found its way amongst the budding success when Arlene’s mother lost her battle to breast cancer. Misfit Collection was designed to encourage women of all diversities. “In any and every circumstance, we are all beautiful “so she continue the vision and passion to uplift and inspire beauty with Yolette’s legacy at heart.”
